Design tips

Designing a motorcycle helmet

01

Design for the tuck

Tucked in on the straight, a rider shows the top and back of the helmet more than the front. Put the strongest shapes there.

02

Use the spoiler

The tall rear spoiler is a natural spot for a number, a name or a flash of a second colour.

03

Let the chin bar lead the front

The big visor takes up most of the front view, so the chin bar and brow carry the design from the front.

04

Sweep lines backwards

Lines that run from the chin bar back over the crown follow the shape of the shell and the direction the rider is going.

Design it in 3D

Open this motorcycle helmet in the editor and paint it on flat views like the template. Every stripe and number wraps onto the 3D shell as you draw, and you can share the result with one link.
