Goalie mask template

A pro-style hockey goalie mask with a cat-eye cage, a sculpted chin and a separate backplate. The cage and straps are shown in grey so the paintable mask stays clear.

One A4 landscape sheet with all five views at the same scale. Outlines are bold enough to colour inside; the cage, trim and fittings are light grey.

Design tips

Designing a goalie mask

01

Start with the sides

Goalie mask art lives on the cheeks and the sides of the mask. Draw your main graphic there first, then carry it over the top.

02

Work round the cage

The cage covers the middle of the front view. Keep detail on the forehead above it and on the chin below it, where it shows through.

03

Give the backplate its own job

The backplate is a separate piece behind the strap gap. It's the classic place for a number, a name or a small tribute.

04

Plan for a wrap or a painter

Mark where each colour goes and send the sheet to a mask painter or a wrap shop. Ask the mask's maker before painting or wrapping it yourself.

Same shell, in 3D

Design it in 3D

Open this goalie mask in the editor and paint it on flat views like the template. Every stripe and number wraps onto the 3D shell as you draw, and you can share the result with one link.
