You haven't chosen yet, so analytics cookies are off.

Your choice is remembered for 6 months, then we ask again. Change it here at any time.

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We keep them to a minimum: there are no advertising, social-media or third-party analytics cookies on helmetdesigner.com, and no tracking scripts from anyone else.

Strictly necessary (always on)

These make the site work, so the law doesn't require consent for them.

Name	What it's for	How long
`_helmet_designer_session`	Keeps you signed in while you browse, protects forms against forgery (CSRF) and carries one-off messages between pages.	Until you close your browser
`remember_user_token`	Only if you tick "Keep me signed in": signs you back in on this device.	2 weeks
`hd_consent`	Remembers your analytics choice on this page, so we don't ask on every visit.	6 months
`hd_admin_gate`	Staff only: unlocks the admin area after a second password.	1 hour

Analytics (only if you accept)

Name	What it's for	How long
`hd_visitor`	A random id (nothing else about you) so we can see how people come back and go from trying the editor to saving and sharing. If you sign up, your earlier visits are linked to your account. Rejecting deletes it.	6 months

Whatever you choose, we count page views and editor actions on our own servers without cookies: IP addresses are shortened before they're stored and visits are grouped by an anonymous code that changes every day, so nothing is stored on your device and one day's visits can't be linked to the next. More in our Privacy policy.

Your browser's storage

The editor keeps your work-in-progress in your browser's local storage (keys starting helmet-designer:): the design you're working on, a backup of the last saved design you opened, recently used colours and commands, and whether you've seen the welcome screen. It never leaves your device unless you save to your account, and it's needed for the editor to work. Clear it from your browser's site settings.
