The colours
The United Kingdom's colours
Silverstone hosted the first round of the world championship in 1950. Britain's traditional racing colour was a dark green, British racing green, which is why the Heritage design uses it instead of a flag colour.
- navy blue #012169
- red #c8102e
- white #f4f4f2

Tips
Using British colours on a helmet
-
01
Crosses on crosses get busy quickly. Keep the arms broad, let the navy blue field show between them, and give the design room on the sides for numbers or a name.
-
02
White does the separating on the United Kingdom's flag. On a helmet, a thin white pinstripe between navy blue and red keeps the edge crisp, and a white base makes the other colours look brighter.
-
03
Keep the flag itself small and somewhere it stays flat, such as behind the ear or low on the back. Flags on the curve of the crown stretch, and a small, sharp flag reads better from a distance than a large, distorted one.
