helmet designs

Switzerland's flag uses two colours, red and white, so there is plenty of contrast to work with. Below are three Swiss helmet designs built from them. Spin each one, try it on another helmet type, then open it in the editor and make it yours.

The colours

Switzerland's colours

Switzerland banned circuit racing after 1955, so Swiss racing grew up on hill climbs and on circuits abroad.

Three ways to wear them

The designs

A light shell, period pinstripes and small flags on the sides.

03

Swiss shards

The main colour as the base, angular side shards with pinstripes.

Tips

Using Swiss colours on a helmet

  1. 01

A cross sits naturally on the crown, one arm front to back and one ear to ear. That is how most people see a helmet: from above and behind, so the cross reads straight away.

  2. 02

White does the separating on Switzerland's flag. On a helmet, a thin white pinstripe between red and the base keeps the edge crisp, and a white base makes the other colours look brighter.

  3. 03

Keep the flag itself small and somewhere it stays flat, such as behind the ear or low on the back. Flags on the curve of the crown stretch, and a small, sharp flag reads better from a distance than a large, distorted one.
